Monotones ~Albany Family Session~

I met with this family briefly on Thanksgiving morning....we had hoped for some good weather since we were meeting at a gorgeous home with a great yard. But we got rained out, so we we opted to try some indoor shots. Now as I have plainly said before, indoor shots are not my forte. So I think thats why I like so many of these shots in a monotone better than their color versions. Some of it might just be my taste, I feel like the monotone makes the backgrounds disappear a bit and the subjects stand out more....but I also love a golden monotone and this home had just the right neutral decor to make those work great on these images.

Deciding on Tones and Colors

When I am editing pictures I always have a hard time deciding which tones I like the best. I love the soft looks of black and whites or sepia tones images, but I really love the boldness that you get with a full color. And if you have read my blog much you know I am a sucker for a faded "70's" look too. So here are three choices that I am playing with. There are different things that I like about each of them...but I am curious what your opinions are! Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Just for fun...

Here are a couple pictures that are just for fun...I enjoy taking lanscapes and such from time to time.

Just to make sure I give credit where credit is due...this one (the hot air balloon) was taken by my husband. He has been learning right along side me and is quite the photographer himself!

This one too is my husbands...he was playing with some of the macro settings and got a great shot of some sunflowers and bees!

I am really looking foward to the engagement session I am doing on Saturday! The couple sounds like a lot of fun and like they will be up to trying lots of fun shots! I can't wait!

Esperanza's Senior Pictures (A sneak peak!)

I had a really good time with Esperanza and her mom on Weds. We found some new locations to shoot while downtown. And Esperanza is just so cute! :) She did great at finding poses that worked and somehow she could read my mind and pose herself before I told her what I wanted. (One of my favorite pictures in this set so far is one that she pretty much posed herself! It's the first one below!) So here are just a few to enjoy while I continuing editing!

~Wedding Post~ All About Details

Just a few shots....I am still working on the photo transfer. I took the images in RAW format to create the highest image quality possible. This was quite a whirlwind wedding, as the photographer and family member, it seemed to be over in the blink of an eye. (And 1200+ pictures later! I took around 700images and had an assistant that took the rest.)
I wanted to make sure to mention that some of the pictures from this wedding were taken by Charis Draper.
