Welcome

I am a natural light photographer, specializing in Seniors, Individuals and Engagement Sessions. I love to capture the special memories that will be cherished by your family for years to come. Capturing real life as a portrait is what I love to do. Real. Life. Portraiture.

Time Out

One more session to go before my "break"! :) I have been editing like crazy...and still more to come! I am not used to having a long list to edit. Typically I have a day or two between sessions and can get right on the image proofing. I had a great time shooting in downtown Corvallis last night. Lots of background options! We found a great red umbrella over some outside cafe tables. That was fun and I can't wait to see what I have.

While I was waiting last night I got a few shots that I found interesting....

When I got home, I was walking inside and stopped for a second on my front porch to see the sun streaming through the clouds. It was absolutely gorgeous. I took one shot before I knocked over a container that was full of water...and created a mess! Fortunately for me the shot turned out perfect! If you look at the top of the picture you can see the rays of sun creating lines of light!

The D Family

Yesterday I got to meet 11 members of the sweetest family you'll come across. Their love for each other is evident in the way they treat one another. Older siblings helping younger, and younger siblings looking up to older. I may not have captured it, but at least twice I saw a young man looking at his older brothers with respect and adoration. And during the hour that we were shooting I didn't hear one complaint from anyone! Just an honest answer to my question of "Are you having fun yet?" ;)

I am editing sessions in the order they were taken, so these are next on my list...but here are just a few fun ones that I grabbed out really quick!

Kelly and Ken

Busy-ness....that is whats in store for me over the next few days. I have sessions one right after each other, ending on Tuesday. So my blogging and editing is going to slow, just a bit.

~Ken and Kelly~
This couple was so cute...very fun to photograph! Their love is so obvious in their playfulness with each other! So, here are just a few pictures to see while we wait for the rest! There are going to be some GREAT shots and I can't wait to finish editing them!

Just for fun...

Here are a couple pictures that are just for fun...I enjoy taking lanscapes and such from time to time.

Just to make sure I give credit where credit is due...this one (the hot air balloon) was taken by my husband. He has been learning right along side me and is quite the photographer himself!

This one too is my husbands...he was playing with some of the macro settings and got a great shot of some sunflowers and bees!

I am really looking foward to the engagement session I am doing on Saturday! The couple sounds like a lot of fun and like they will be up to trying lots of fun shots! I can't wait!

Favorite Shot

I said I would post my favorite shot from the family shoot I did on Sunday...well it's actually a couple of shots...but they are all very similar, so humor me! :) And the last picture I posted again because I liked it so much the first time! :)

More from the family session

I can't believe it but I am already done editing the pictures from Sunday! I am not sure if it was out of fear of having nothing worth while or excitement that I kept finding a few golden nuggets here and there. I have definitely gained knowledge working with a toddler (that is not my own) and more than 1 or 2 subjects. Finding pictures that are just right, where everyone is looking, eyes open and holding still (toddlers move a lot!) can be a challenge. I should have known this from trying to take a picture of my friends a few weeks back. They have a 2 yr old little girl who is constantly on the move. Out of 15 shots only ONE ended up "kinda decent"! Not good, mind you, k-i-n-d-a /d-e-c-e-n-t! If I think I am a pro then I must be sorely mistaken! :)

Okay, yes I am poking a little fun at myself. I am definitely still learning...and having a blast while I am at it! So here is the ONE shot that turned out decent of my friends family. And a few more of the family session I did on Sunday. I'll post later on today my FAVORITE shot of Sunday's session!

"Little B"

Meeting this little guy yesterday was lots of fun...with no boys of my own I think most toddler boys are fascinating! This guy was on the move and had no time to stop and smile for the camera...I mentioned in the last post the # of shots we had taken...well it looks like we are down to about 1/3 of that! I am definitely going to need to practice with more toddlers! Here are some fun shots from yesterday that show lots of movement. I am playing with a new technique!

This one I color enhanced...black and white then brought back the color to the slide and his eyes! Aren't they adorable? (You may have to click on the picture and view it larger to see the eyes better.)

The H Family ~Sneak Preview~

Okay...so with around 500 shots and a busy toddler I have my work cut out for me finding the best ones! But here are two (one is a color variation) that I like so far...

A few of my favorite recent shots...
