Welcome

I am a natural light photographer, specializing in Seniors, Individuals and Engagement Sessions. I love to capture the special memories that will be cherished by your family for years to come. Capturing real life as a portrait is what I love to do. Real. Life. Portraiture.
Don't throw tomatoes....but I LOVE this cool fall weather! I am even a little bit jealous of the snow they are getting on the East Coast! I can hardly believe that October is coming to a close! We have had a great Senior Portrait season and still have a few more to come!

I am offering my first Holiday Mini Session special and can't wait to get started!

More of Scenic Victoria

If you have never made a trip to Victoria, BC. I think it is well worth it. We saw some gorgeous sights on the drive up, as well as while we were there. Just a few pictures for fun. My husband loves to take pictures too, so some of these are his and some are my own.

This is the same picture with 4 different effects.

10th Anniversary

My husband and I will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary on Thursday. In ways it seems like it has been much longer (thats good) and in the same breath it feels just like yesterday. I am blessed with an amazing husband who loves me unconditionally and supports me overwhelmingly!

We did a little photo session today just for fun. I took the pictures on a tripod with a self timer. Our 8, 6 and 3 year old daughters took a few for us too! So, I definitely need to hire those girls...they did great considering their inexperience and unsteady hand! :)

Entered a contest...

I recently entered a fun "Portrait" contest. If your interested in checking it out you can click on the "vote" link. There are some great prizes for this contest, but I am mainly curious how my picture will do. This is a senior picture I took of Carrie back in September. It is one of my favorite shots so far. I love how the sun set off the trees, but her face is still visible too.

Vote for my photo!

Here is the original...to see it larger.

~Amy~

I had the chance to take a few pictures of my sister Amy yesterday. She was feeling a bit silly, like most moms who are used to being behind the camera, but I think she did a great job "faking" it for me. :) We used my dads old truck as a prop which was kinda fun.

She was just being silly above....I love the one below!

Pumpkin Patch

We had some fun at "Grandpa's Farm" yesterday with some other homeschool friends. We navigated the corn/sunflower maze succesfully, we hopped around the hay maze, picked out our perfect pumpkin and had great fun!

Here are just a couple shots from the day...nothing spectactular, just fun!

I read about puting a white pumpkin on the top of a silver vase....hmm, not quite sure I succeeded in the venture. :)
Just for fun....our porch decorated with the new pumpkins.

A revelation and a few more of Heather

I just wanted to post a couple more pictures from the last part of the session with Heather, but first...I am realizing as I gain experience, that I take a LOT of pictures! At first it was out of necessity because I wanted that many options, but as I have improved the need is much less. Each session I go to seems to have more choice images than the previous. Which, in the end, actually makes my job a lot harder...trying to weed through a bunch of great pictures is difficult because I don't want to cut any of them. :) I have decided to slow down on the # of images I take and now work more towards quality...careful placement, lighting and removing distractions from the picture.

I got to take a few family shots when we were almost done with Heathers session and they turned out very sweet.
