Part Weather Girl

When the weather starts turn so do I. Instead of just being a photographer, I turn into a part time weather girl. I am constantly watching the forecast updates as well as the sky to see what it looks like. I'll ask, "Is there any way I can squeeze this session in before it starts to rain again?"

Thats how Nick's session took place! In between rain showers. But we really managed to get a great session for him without even getting rained on. He was a lot of fun to take pictures of because he had a lot of creative ideas already that we could work with. And his mom made a great assistant, holding the light diffuser as well as a huge pile of hats! :) I think they turned out pretty great!

~Ken~ Class of 2010

Just finished up editing Ken's senior pictures. They turned out so great. Below are just a few of my favorites from the session.

South Albany High School Senior

I had the chance to meet with Ken today for some senior pictures. He is a basketball player and yes, he is tall. I think he said 6'5 to be exact.

I just had to put these two shots on today.

I knew as I was leaving the session that we had gotten some awesome images. Ken was easy to work with....and has such a great serious look. Basketball or maybe modeling, either way

If you have never met Arely, then you have never heard a real laugh, or had real fun! Arely is one of the sweetest friends I have and I love hanging out with her. She came by for a quick session one afternoon and it rained on us! But we still got some great shots with my make-shift studio. Is she not the most adorable cheerleader?

Classic Beauty

Chelsea is a girl that is just classic. Her looks, and smirks and movements...everything about her just screams beauty and grace. All of her images are amazing...

Deciding on Tones and Colors

When I am editing pictures I always have a hard time deciding which tones I like the best. I love the soft looks of black and whites or sepia tones images, but I really love the boldness that you get with a full color. And if you have read my blog much you know I am a sucker for a faded "70's" look too. So here are three choices that I am playing with. There are different things that I like about each of them...but I am curious what your opinions are! Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Chelsea ~Class of 2010~ South Albany High School

Wow! I just don't have much more to say than that. We got some great shots at Chelsea's senior session. The lighting was just perfect! So enjoy these images from the session...still lots of editing to do. Lots of sessions going on right now...so I am just trying to stay caught up. :)

South Albany Senior

I had to post a few more images. I am still working away on Corrinda's session. The only problem with a great session is that I have so many images to work with, it takes a while to get them all edited. But I am nearing the end. I have another senior session tomorrow...if the weather cooperates!

This picture may not follow the rules of lighting in most photography...but I still like it. The creek was just sparkling on this particular morning and casting such fun lights that I wanted to try a shot with some of it highlighting her face. I really like how it turned out.

So stinkin hard to choose a favorite...

Don't you hate it when people are so cute?!

How is it possible that nearly every image I have come across from my senior session on Saturday becomes my new favorite?! You know those people that pull off any look, any outfit, or anything they try, well I met one on Saturday. Corrinda is part of the dance team at South Albany High School and I talked her into doing something for the camera....she did it so gracefully and looked gorgeous all the while. So, Corrinda, you are now added to my list as one of those people that just make me sick! And I mean that in the nicest way possible! ;)

I love senior pictures with mom too....and this one is so sweet!

And lastly I have to give props to Corrinda's friend Courtney. She has got an eye for photography...she suggested using the curb in a shot while we were working on the train tracks and when we got to it I could immediately see a great image. So nice work Courtney! It turned out great, and again Corrinda totally worked the camera. I love it!

Corrinda~Senior Portrait Session

Corrinda picked out such a great location! I have never shot at this park before but it was so great. There were lots of different options. But I wanted to post a few pictures while I am editing the rest of them! There are lots of good ones!

Marco Class of 2010 ~Albany Senior Portrait Photographer~ Urban Photography

I enjoyed shooting with Marco and his mom last week. Marco plays football for SAHS, so we had to work his session in between practices. He is a really cute kid and we got some great shots. I have not had a chance to start editing his session yet, but I pulled out a couple of images that stood out to me when I was viewing them. We'll have more images to come!

Go Rebels!

Congrats Class of 2009! ~Oregon Event Photographer~

I was honored to be asked to photograph one of my seniors again, this time at her graduation! Esperanza graduated yesterday from South Albany High School...in the rain!! What a crazy evening. We started the evening with gorgeous sunshine while we took some shots of Esperanza and her friends, by the time the ceremony was upon us we were standing in the rain and wind with lightening flashing around us. I certainly got cold and wet, but it was all worth it! So here are just a few shots from the evening.

Thanks Esperanza for thinking of me, it was a lot of fun! Congratulations!!
